The Third International Conference for “Personal Epistemology and Learning in Digital Age”

      Personal epistemology refers to individuals’ beliefs about the nature of knowledge and knowing. This conference, with the theme of “Personal Epistemology and Learning (PEL),” is devoted to elaborating the interplay between personal epistemology and learning. This conference will discuss how personal epistemology may play a role in the learning process and outcome. In addition, instruction, curriculum design, emerging technologies, and the cultural impacts on the development of personal epistemology have received growing interests among researchers. It is encouraged that international researchers and practitioners contribute papers for presentation at the 3rd PEL conference to share their research findings and best practices, as well as exchange updated views of recent development in the field.

 

 Possible topics for the conference may include:

• Conceptual/Developmental Models of Personal Epistemology
• Theoretical and Conceptual Issues about Personal Epistemology and Learning
• Methodological Issues about Assessing Personal Epistemology
• Empirical Studies on Cultural-specific Personal Epistemology and Learning
• Perspectives on Domain-Specific or Context-Specific Personal Epistemology
• Research about Personal Epistemology, Learning Process, and Epistemic Cognition
• Empirical Studies on Personal Epistemology in Technology-enhanced Learning Environment 
• Research about Internet-Specific Epistemology and Learning
• Research about learning and teaching beliefs

 

Formatting for Proposal Submission

  • Please prepare a sumary of paper proposal for presentation (up to 800 words in English or 2000 words in Chinese) with the format of WORD or PDF, and submit it to pel.ntnu@gmail.com by 15, July, 2019 The summary should deal explicitly with many of the following: 1. Objectives or purposes, 2. Perspective(s) or theoretical framework, 3. Methods, techniques, or modes of inquiry, 4. Data sources or evidence, 5. Results and/or conclusions.

  • The submitted summary should include all authors’ names, affiliations, and e-mail addresses. The corresponding author should be labeled. After the process of peer review, the decision of the proposal for presentation will be made by 15, August, 2019.
